Press Release: Agribusiness Excellence and Leadership Awards, 2021

Accra; November 10, 2021:

The agribusiness sector has seen marginal recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic and has been declared as one of the fastest sectors to recover from the shocks of the pandemic. The Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana and partners have launched the fourth Ghana Agribusiness Excellence and Leadership Awards themed ‘Sustainable Agriculture: A catalyst for food security and job creation’. The awards programme is to be held on 24th November, 2021 at the Marriott Hotel in Accra. The Ghana Agribusiness Excellence and Leadership Awards is a prestigious awards programme that seeks to recognise and reward excellence and leadership across the agribusiness value chain in Ghana. The Awards showcase and recognise individuals, agribusinesses and institutions that play significant roles in the growth and development of the agribusiness sector, while recognising the key functions within the areas that promote growth and sustainability.

This fourth edition seeks to celebrate achievements, agritech innovations and brilliance within the agribusiness environment in Ghana. The Awards are a benchmark of excellence for agribusiness performance despite recurring challenges. The benchmarks for company performance would be based on some key performance indicators (KPIs) to derive the criteria of excellence. Key among the criteria are: innovation, customer service, corporate social responsibility and competitive products/services. Agribusinessess, who are weighted above the scores done by our validating partner, will be entered into the final list. The Awards have a range of categories suited for any successful agribusiness organisation to tell their story; from large private and public agribusiness companies through to thriving entrepreneurial agribusinesses, promising agribusiness start-ups and established Agri-SMEs.

The categories cut across the Agribusiness industry, Agribusiness company of the year, Promising Agribusiness of company of the year, Promising Agripreneur of the Year, Agribusiness Social Entrepreneur of the Year, CSR Agribusiness company of the Year, Agribusiness Customer Service company of the Year, Agribusiness Brand of the Year, Agribusiness Local Content Award, Livestock Company of the year, Aquaculture Company of the year, Agribusiness Export Company of the year, CropLife Company of the year, Fruit Value chain Company of the year, Vegetable Value chain Company of the year, Agribusiness Product of the Year, Agribusiness Leadership Personality of the year,  and many more agribusiness industry specific awards. The Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana commits to recognising distinctions in the field, and also to promote the interests of the Agribusiness industry - nationally and internationally.

Purpose of the Award

The Awards Scheme seeks to reward agribusinesses that have played defining roles in moving the agribusiness industry forward and have demonstrated achievements across the various commodity value chains including sustainability, technology, operational excellence, innovation and CSR. The Awards scheme also seeks to identify projects and individual achievements that have enabled agribusinesses to set themselves apart from their competitors and that have produced clear and compelling value and relevant results. The Awards scheme equally brings together players in the Agribusiness industry to recognise achievements from local and international companies involved in promoting the development of the agribusiness sector in Ghana.
