Chamber of Agribusiness Partners with ActionAid on Decent Work Programme
The Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana has recently secured funding support from ActionAid Ghana to deliver Decent Work Charter for member agribusinesses. This funding aims to facilitate the implementation of the ambitious Decent Work Charter across its member agribusinesses, situated in the Northern region of their operational area.
To ensure inclusivity and active involvement of stakeholders, the Chamber has carefully handpicked ten agribusiness micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) based on their valuable contributions during the Charter's development and their remarkable track record of being in good standing within the industry.
The initiative has already commenced with the first session taking place in Tamale, where key stakeholders came together to discuss and initiate the process. The ongoing second phase is witnessing the Chamber's dedication in providing these selected enterprises with essential technical support. The focus is on helping these agribusinesses enhance their organizational structures and, more importantly, instilling the core principles and values of the Decent Work Charter into their policies.

This milestone project is set to bring about transformative changes in the agribusiness sector, promoting fair and just working conditions for employees while fostering sustainable growth and development. Through ActionAid Ghana's support and the Chamber's committed efforts, the future looks promising for these ten MSMEs, poised to become exemplars of ethical practices and social responsibility in the Northern region's agribusiness landscape. As the program continues to unfold, it holds the potential to create a ripple effect, inspiring more agribusinesses to embrace the Decent Work Charter and elevate the standards of the industry as a whole.
